It was the perfect autumn evening at Three Brothers Wineries and Estates in Geneva, NY. Some of the top regional female influencers were invited by Three Brother’s owners and gracious hosts, Luanne Mansfield and Erica Paolicelli, to join them for an intimate gathering to celebrate the release of their new wine series: Women of Distinction.
It was a little chilly but we warmed up quickly as we were greeted by an outdoor fire pit and handed a glass of “Fortune Favors the Bold” (a traditional method barbera champagne and one of my personal favorites). If you’ve never been to Three Brothers, you should really get yourself there soon, it’s such a beautiful spot and there is truly something for everyone. They have a gift shop, microbrewery, restaurant, three wineries with so many beautiful spots to soak in the scenery of the vineyards with Seneca Lake serving as the iddylic backdrop.
We chatted over champagne, enjoyed a braid bar and flower crown station all while watching the sun set over the lake. Three Brothers is only 50 minutes away from Rochester but it felt like we were transported to a magical, faraway place, where we could take a breath and celebrate the beauty surrounding us.
After a chilly but very fun photo shoot with the talented Tracy Jade Photography we all headed back into the Stony Lonesome Wine Cellar for dinner and discussion. Erica and Luanne told us more about their Women Of Distinction wine series and the inspiration behind it. Both shared about the strong women in their life and a little about what it is like to be a leader in a very male dominated industry. The wines: Wanderlush, Ferocity & Eccentricity are all inspired by different women and it was fascinating and empowering to hear the thoughts behind each delicious wine. We also heard from their top female winemakers, Kim White & Paige Vinson, about their jobs and what they bring to the table by being women in a male dominated field. During harvest, they work around the clock making it all happen. It was inspiring to hear about their struggles but also their determination to change how things are done and how they are perceived.
More bottles were opened, glasses filled and were served grilled cheese and soup pairings. I couldn’t think of a more perfect dinner on a brisk autumn evening. Breanna Banford and Sydney Bell from podcast Queen Speaking led the dinnertime discussion and each woman took turns sharing thoughts on life, womanhood, failure and everything in between. It was a breath of fresh air to hear such honesty and vulnerable answers by some of the other regional influencers and I couldn’t help feel thankful and honored to be surrounded by such inspiring women.
The evening ended with maple bourbon bacon macaroons by onsite onsite pastry chef, Taylor Sauginas (yup, they were as good as they sound), apple cinnamon cupcakes and Three Brother’s special coffee blend. They gave us each an incredible gift bag full of yummy goodies (and more wine!) and we left feeling spoiled. I keep thinking about women in my life who need these new wines. Especially when the label describes them perfectly, whether it’s Eccentricity or Ferocity... there’s a woman in my life that fits the bill and I couldn’t be more grateful.
