We are proud to be partnering with Peppermint, our sponsor of Becoming Boss No. 4. Located at Culver Road Armory, Peppermint is one of Rochester’s finest fashion destinations. Peppermint offers dresses, tops and a full sportswear collection of knits, skirts and outerwear. Their formula is simple: soak up the love of vintage fashion, mix it up with modern silhouettes, and have fun playing with classic and contemporary prints to create a distinctive brand that is both feminine and sweet.
With a desire to start a young contemporary collection at an affordable price point, Peppermint was launched by designer Tanvi Asher in 2010 from her basement studio. Tanvi began selling a unique collection of handmade pieces online. She quickly realized the demand for a brick-and-mortar store. Tanvi incorporates the culture and style of the city into Peppermint's mix and attitude. Their selection is an assortment of indie designers from the US and abroad. Peppermint also features a wide array of local handmade artisans, with the store's upper level devoted to 585-themed stationery, gifts and home goods.
Giving back to the community runs through the core of the Peppermint brand. Tanvi uses Peppermint's annual fashion show to showcase Girls Rock! Rochester and the Verona Street Animal Society, with a portion of ticket sales directly supporting those organizations. The show has also been a platform for new designers including Mary Ethel Rockcastle, Josean Vargas-Rodriguez and Sophie Cerankosky. Tanvi also takes pleasure in lifting up the women on her team, from emerging stylist/designers like Sky Armstrong, to her own mother, a recent immigrant who is now helping out in the shop.
As a sponsor of Becoming Boss No. 4, Tanvi is excited and happy to support an event that elevates women who are making their plans come to life. Be sure to stop in soon and support your local girl gang!
